  • Demonstrated the importance of Black British visual culture with emphasis on memory, race and identity through the productions of Ceddo, Black Audio Film Collective, and Sankofa.
  • Accomplished an in-depth analysis of all works by the three collectives — a pioneering study. Retrieved Ceddo's works (four had never been explored).
  • Conducted archival research at the BFI, InIVA, London Metropolitan Archive, LUX, The June Givanni Pan-African Archive, Tate Britain, George Padmore Institute, Black Cultural Archives, and Channel 4.
  • Created concepts such as "Britishtalgia," "phonoptic history," and "Afroneric creation."
  • Pioneered analyses using a theoretical framework intersecting cultural studies, memory studies, film studies, and postcolonial theory.
